Spain’s sparkling-wine story is more layered and dynamic than many travelers realize. In the vineyards of Penedès, historic cellars stand alongside a new generation of producers who are reexamining tradition, farming, and the possibilities of long-aged sparkling wine.

 

Our journey will bring us into family estates and atmospheric cellars for private tastings of distinguished Cava and other traditional-method wines. Along the way, we will experience Catalonia through its markets, regional cooking, architecture, and the irresistible energy of Barcelona, allowing wine and culture to tell one connected story.

 

I approach Spain with the curiosity of a sommelier and the perspective developed through years of exploring the world’s great sparkling-wine regions. My goal is to provide the context that makes every tasting more meaningful while introducing you to producers whose wines express a genuine sense of place.
